What is InDG?
India Development Gateway (InDG) is a national level initiative dedicated to rural empowerment, provides credible information products and services in local languages. InDG initiative is supported by DIT, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India and implemented by Center For Development of Advance Computing (C-DAC), Hyderabad.

The multilingual website www.indg.in is a one stop portal to people who seeks information in Indian languages related to six livelihood domains (Agriculture, Health, Primary Education, Rural Energy, Social Welfare and E-Governance). The portal currently hosts information in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Assamese, Kannada and English.

Indian Grameen Service (IGS) has been selected as the Andhra Pradesh State Nodal Agency (AP-SNA) by CDAC to take InDG initiative forward.

IGS is engaged in sustainable livelihood promotion with a vision of "Sustainable Livelihoods, Prosperous Households" (Kayam Rojgar, Khushal pariwar). the IGS mission is "incubating innovations for pro poor sustainable livelihoods". the target communities are small and marginal farmers, tribal, urban poor, women, denotified and nomadic tribes. IGS will pick up an idea, pilot test it, incubate it, and make viable product and services, which will generate enough revenue / accomplish the objective for target customers and promoting organizations.

Objectives:

Ensure need based, demand driven and responsive content in all the 6 domains Agriculture,health, Education, Social Welfare, Rural Energy, e-Governance to commonman.

  • Build a strong and motivated community of volunteers involving individuals and organizations for Telugu content development.
  • Ensure better awareness and utility of InDG among the key development stakeholders in the state.
  • To build capability of gross root service providers.

Volunteering in the India Development Gateway is a great way to support our mission. Now we are requesting each one of you to please register in InDG web portal and become a volunteer. Also you can share your ideas and suggestions with us to improve the services in a better way.
